The Most Entertaining Athlete Using Social Media
Athletes have fully embraced social media as a way to express themselves on and off the field. When a sport star tweets, they can talk straight to their fans and not have to worry about the media misinterpreting their words. Chad Ochocinco and Shaquille O’Neal are among the most popular celebrity athletes in the Twitter universe. While Ochocinco may be more popular than Barack Obama when it comes to microblogging, the best overall athlete in terms of utilizing social media may be someone whom you are unfamiliar with.

Max Seibald is a superstar in the lacrosse world. He was featured in Nike’s “Boom” commercial with LeBron James, Adrian Peterson, and Kobe Bryant. The Hewlett, New York native wasn’t randomly selected to be in the popular advertising campaign. Seibald’s superb play from the college ranks to the pro level got him the necessary recognition to become an ambassador for the sport. Those who follow Seibald are now realizing that he is equally entertaining on Facebook and Twitter as he is on the lacrosse field.

Seibald takes you behind the scenes on what goes on in his everyday life. From Nike apparel arriving at his Manhattan apartment, checking out a Knicks game at MSG, to scoring a 100+ yard goal. Max does a great job of consistently updating his status while taking quality pictures and adding the perfect amount of exclusive videos to his social media arsenal. This wide variety of content gives his followers an outstanding glimpse of his daily activities.

By cross promoting his content on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, Seibald clearly has an outstanding overall grasp on social media. Lacrosse lacks the mainstream media coverage of the four major North American sports. Other lacrosse players need to follow in the footsteps of Seibald and let fans know what makes their sport and athletes great
